Mike Jarjura

Michael J. Jarjura — Mayor
Michael "Mike" Jarjura (D-Waterbury) was elected Mayor of the City of Waterbury in November 2001. He is currently serving in his 3rd term as Mayor, having been re-elected in November 2003 and 2005. Mayor Jarjura is credited with bringing financial stability back to the City of Waterbury, which was on the brink of bankruptcy when Mayor Jarjura took the Oath of Office. Mayor Jarjura is also credited for bringing honor and trust to the government of the City which had been rocked by political and government scandals and wrongdoing. [more]

Antoinette Spinelli

Antoinette Spinelli — Town Clerk
Antoinette "Chick" Spinelli has served as Town Clerk since 2002 and the Registrar of Vital Statistics since 2003. Chick lives in Town Plot with her husband William and their three children – Frank, Anthony and LuAnn. Chick is a member of the Connecticut Town Clerks Association, International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Lions Club, Unico Club, and the Town Plot Neighborhood Association. Chick was the owner of Chick's Coffee House in Town Plot and the parish Secretary at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She is a graduate of Kennedy High School and a certified Connecticut Town Clerk.

Michael Dalton

Michael Dalton — City Clerk
Michael Dalton has been City Clerk since 2005. Michael worked for the State of Connecticut in a Supervisor position and graduate from Central Connecticut State Univeristy. He was an Army Sergeant during the Vietnam War era. Michael is a running coach for the CT Libra Running Team, on the YMCA Board of Directors and a former business member of the Waterbury Regional Chamber. He is a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Waterbury YMCA. Michael was born in Ireland and now resides in the East End.

Stephen Conway

Stephen Conway — City Sheriff
Stephen Conway has been the City Sheriff for the past 6 years. He is a member of the Brooklyn Neighborhood Association, East Mountain Neighborhood Association, Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Democratic Town Committee. Stephen is the some of former state representative and Mrs. Thomas Conway. Stephen works of the State Department of Transportation and part time for the Delinks-Conway Funeral Home. He is single and lives in the Brooklyn section of the city.

Martin Misset

Martin Misset — Board of Alderman
Martin Misset is a current member of the Board of Alderman and serves on the City Plan Commission and the Board of Public Works. A graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Marty attended the University of Connecticut and graduated from the University of Delaware, Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He is employed as Vice President of Lending at Waterbury CT Teachers Federal Credit Union. Marty lives in the Town Plot neighborhood with his wife Aimee and son William, and they are expecting their second child in October of this year.

Paul Nogueira

Paul Nogueira — Board of Alderman
Paul Noguiera has served on the Board of Alderman since 2002 and resides on Sylvan Avenue. He is married and has two sons. A graduate of Crosby High School and President ONE STOP TRAVEL AGENCY. Paul is a member of the Portuguese Sport Club, Marine Corps League, VFW Post 201, and Waterbury ELKS. He has held the following Elected Positions and Commissions: Elected to Voter Admissions, Democrat Town Committee, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Zoning Commission.

Paul Pernerewski, Jr.

Paul Pernerewski, Jr. — Board of Alderman
Paul Pernerewski grew up in Town Plot and lives in Bunker Hill with his wife, Kim, and three sons. He currently serves as Aldermanic Majority Leader, as Chairman of the Waterbury Development Authority, Chairman of the City Plan Steering Committee, and as a member of the Zoning Commission, the Waterbury Development Corporation, and the Palace Theater Board. He previously served as Chairman of the 2002 Charter Revision Commission, Chairman of the Mayor's Blue Ribbon Commission on Civil Service and Human Resources, and as a member of the Public Works Board. He earned his B.S., summa cum laude, in Business Administration from UConn and his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. Paul has been Assistant Attorney General since 1986.

Joyce Petteway

Joyce Petteway — Board of Alderman
Joyce Hall-Petteway is Vice President of the Board of Education for the city of Waterbury CT school district. Since taking office in Jan 2000, she has served as Chair of Grants, School Activities, Finance, Transportation and School Activities committees. She is employed as an Investment Technician at the State of CT Treasury in the debt management division which runs Connecticut's debt service payments, cash-flow borrowing and maintains the state's rating agency programs. Ms. Petteway deals with a lot of law, public administration, finance, and organizational work. As an investmentment technician, Ms. Petteway is responsible for the coordination of the State's Tax Exempt Proceeds Fund Program through which $3 billion dollars of cash out-flows to all cities, towns, school districts, grant funded projects and programs which are appropriated from bond funds. Joyce has over 30 years of experience in government finance.

Anne Phelan

Anne Phelan — Board of Alderman
Anne Phelan has served on the Board of Alderman since 2005. She is employed at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain and works as the director of volunteer services. She volunteers with the Hospital Board of Directors and New Britain Public Library Board of Directors. Anne has a master degree from the University of New Haven and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Connecticut. She has 15 years experience in human resources.

Anthony Piccochi

Anthony Piccochi — Board of Alderman
Anthony Piccochi is a member of the Board of Alderman since 2004. He is married to Celia Ricco and has three children – Anthony, Jr., Rayonne, and Christina. He is a member of the Pontelandolfo Club, Washington Hill Athletic Club, Bunker Hill Neighborhood Association, and Our Lady of Loretta Church. Tony is a former member of the Mt. Carmel Parish Council and Sacred Heart High School Board of Directors. He has received awards from both the Olympian Club and the Sportsman Club for his services to athletics.

Sandra Ramirez

Sandra Ramirez — Board of Alderman
Sandra Ramirez is a member of the Board of Alderman since 2003. She was born in Puerto Rico and has four children. Sandra is a member of the Waterbury Democrat Town Committee, Connecticut Hispanic Democratic Caucus, and Commission of Connecticut Higher Education. She was the recipient of the Who's Who's in America, Award from Waterbury Hispanic Clergy, Award Proclamation from City of Boston, MA and she implemented Aspira to the Waterbury Public Schools. Sandra was a recipient of the Community Service Award from the Waterbury Hispanic Providers.

Laurie Singer Russo

Laurie Singer Russo — Board of Alderman
Laurie Singer Russo, 48, is a lifelong resident of the Overlook neighborhood. Daughter of Freda and the late David Singer, Laurie attended Kingsbury School (1972), Notre Dame Academy (1976), and the University of Conn./Storrs, (1981). She received her JD from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 1989. Laurie has been a practicing attorney since that time, and active in the Waterbury Bar Association, twice serving as its President. Laurie is currently in her third term as an alderman. She is the President Pro Tempore of the Board, and its liaison to the Board of Public Health. Prior to serving as an alderman, Laurie was on the Zoning Commission, Board of Assessment Appeals, and two Charter Revision Commissions. She is a current member of the Waterbury Democrat Town Committee/73rd District. Laurie lives in Overlook with her two children, Chelsea, 19, a sophomore at Marist College, and Jackson, 11, a sixth-grader at St. Mary School.

J. Paul Vance, Jr.

J. Paul Vance, Jr. — Board of Alderman
A lifelong resident of Waterbury, J. Paul Vance, Jr. is proud to be seeking his fourth term on the Board of Aldermen. Vance has been President of the Board for his three terms. Raised in the East End, Paul and his wife Michele now reside Town Plot. Active in the Waterbury community as a volunteer for many organizations and as a Crosby Women's Assistant Basketball Coach, Paul is a Waterbury Attorney with Melick, Porter & Shea LLP, a Boston-based firm.

Patrick Hayes

Patrick Hayes — Board of Education
Patrick Hayes has been a member of the Board of Education for eight years and is the current President for the past four years. He is married to his wife Robyn and together, they have 5 children. Pat is a member of the Bunker Hill Neighborhood Association and a former member of the Board of Ethics. He was the past president of the East End Community Club and Citywide PTA Council. Recently he was the recipient of the Educational Leadership Award from the Waterbury Neighborhood Council.

Stephen Laccone

Stephen Laccone — Board of Education
Stephen E. Laccone, a graduate of W.F. Kaynor Tech with a major in Tool Making is an employee of the City of Waterbury, Water Department. Stephen also worked as a journeyman Toolmaker for Clydel Manufacturing. Mr. Laccone has held the position of President of AFSCME Local 353, as well as Executive Vice-President, AFSCME Council 4. Stephen served as a member of the Waterbury Financial Planning and Assistance Board. Mr. Laccone, a lifelong resident of Waterbury, is married and has two beautiful children who attend Waterbury Public Schools.

Mary White

Mary White — Board of Education
Mary White has been a member of the Board of Education since 1995. Mary was employed by the Education department for 23 years and a member of the White Collar Union. Her community involvement includes: an office and member of ARC, a volunteer docent at the Mattatuck Museum and is a member of the East Mountain Athletic Assoicatiaton. Mary is married to her husband Richard, who is a retired Waterbury Police, for 53 years and they have seven children.
